'WHAT IS THE CONTEXT OF LOVE?'

This project was the first one in my MA Design course. The aim was to find case studies for our favourite image, 3D sculpture, piece of text, a film and a place. I chose a painting by Jack Coutler who uses synethesia to paint what he sees when listening to sounds. This one was inspired by 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' by Joy Division.

The case studies included the WEEE Man by Paul Bonetelli, a scene from Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining,' a quote from philosopher Alan Watts and the Sagada de Familia, Barcelona. Once found, my challenge was to create a product combining all these five things. In turn, this creation would represent me as a designer and allow a theme to occur. In this case my was emotional value and fantasy, as my favourite things had a common theme of love, attachment and perception.
